Description
The DBN900 is a construction nailer powered by the LXT 18V battery platform. This model uses an air spring system. The brushless motor accelerates the compression of the air spring, allowing nails up to 90 mm to be driven with a feeling similar to that of a pneumatic nailer.
- Dual firing modes:Â Single shot for precision or bumpfire for speed
- Suitable for 50-90mm nails:Â Ideal for heavy duty applications such as timber structures and roof beams
- LED light:Â the built-in LED light gives you a good view of your workpiece
- Consistent Driving Power:Â The brushless motor delivers consistent and reliable performance, even during demanding tasks, ensuring every nail is driven with precision.
- Dry firing protection:Â Prevents firing when the magazine is empty, protecting both the tool and the work surface.
The Makita DBN900 is a powerful and versatile cordless construction tacker that is specially designed for professional use. This tacker offers the possibility to switch between ‘bumpfire’ and ‘single shot’ depending on the application and the desired working speed. This makes it a flexible choice for various construction projects.
The machine is equipped with a belt hook that can be mounted on the tacker, so you can always have the tacker easily at hand. The contact tip with a slanted starting angle ensures a firm connection with the wood, which gives extra stability when shooting nails. The tacker also has a sturdy metal truss hook with which the machine can be safely hung on roof trusses and purlins.
The keyless release of the drive pin minimizes downtime and increases productivity. The magazine is both lightweight and durable, contributing to a long service life of the machine.
The 30 – 34 degree magazine is suitable for both D-head nails and round nails with eccentric head , making the tacker widely applicable. The advanced BRUSHLESS motor provides enough power to shoot 90mm ringed nails in soft wood and up to 63mm in hard wood . The depth of the nails can be easily adjusted with the adjustment wheel on the front , ensuring precision in every project.
The machine automatically stops when there are too few nails in the magazine, which prevents dry firing. The fully mechanical system, without gas, ensures consistent performance in extreme temperatures from -20° to 50°C with minimal maintenance requirements. In addition, the tacker operates without sparks or gas waste and produces little noise.
With a magazine capacity of 51-58 nails and reliable performance in a variety of conditions, the Makita DBN900 is an indispensable tool for any construction professional.
User Tips for the DBN900
- Choose the right mode: Bumpfire or Single Shot
- Use the single shot mode when precision is important, such as when driving nails into specific places or when precise work is required. This mode gives you control over every nail you shoot.
- Switch to bumpfire mode when speed is a priority, such as firing multiple nails in a short period of time, such as when fastening large surfaces such as boards or panels. Hold down the trigger and tap the nose of the nailer against the work surface to quickly fire multiple nails.
- Maintain your tacker regularly
- To extend the life of your tacker, make sure you clean and maintain it regularly. Remove dust and dirt from the magazine and around the contact points. Also, regularly check the condition of the nails you are using, as damaged or rusted nails can jam and interfere with the machine’s operation.
- Make sure the battery is well charged
- A well-charged LXT 18V battery is essential for optimum performance. Always keep a spare battery at hand, with a 6.0Ah BL1860B battery you can shoot up to 1000 nails. Do not work with a nearly empty battery, as this can lead to reduced power when shooting nails and increase the risk of incomplete nailing.
